The national voice for Canada’s career development standards.
The Standards Council for Canadian Career Development (Standards Council) is the national body responsible for stewarding the integrity, evolution, and sustainability of Canada’s professional standards for Career Development Professionals (CDPs).
Evolving from the National Certification Advisory Committee (NCAC), the Standards Council brings together leaders from across the country to champion excellence, uphold shared professional values, and support the career development field to keep pace with Canada’s changing labour market, societal realities, and practitioner needs.

Why National Standards Matter
National standards help to:
Support quality, consistency, and credibility across professions
Strengthen professional identity and recognition for CDPs
Ensure standards evolve alongside labour market and societal change
Promote equity, accessibility, and ethical practice nationwide
